How it works

Blogging on OnlySL

Credit the Second Life stores behind your looks. Fans can shop them in a click, stores can find you, and you get a media kit with real numbers. No brand deal needed.

Start here

Three steps

  1. Step 1

    Turn on blogger mode

    Creator Studio → Blogger hub → Turn on blogger mode. Add a one-line pitch and up to five niches. You get a Blogger badge on your profile, a media kit and a spot in the blogger directory.

  2. Step 2

    Credit your look

    In the post composer, tap Credits in the Add to post row. It opens by itself when you pick the Blog label. For each piece, add the store, the item and a link. Up to 15 per post; pinning a credit on the photo is optional.

  3. Step 3

    Share your media kit

    Copy your media kit link from the hub and paste it into store blogger applications. It shows your followers, credited posts, credit clicks and the stores you feature.

MISO, KONVO… Credits with the same store are grouped on that store’s page. Stores you’ve credited before are suggested as you type.

What you’re wearing or using, like “Angelina Squish Set”.

Link · optional

An SL Marketplace page, a SLurl to the store, or the store’s own page. Tracking bits like utm_ are removed.

Already write credits in your caption?

Open Credits and it offers to import them, or paste a credits list from a notecard into the Item field. You review what it found before anything is added, and rows it isn’t sure about start unticked. It reads the usual SL layouts: [ STORE ] Item, Store • Item and Store - Item, with the link on the same line or on a “📍 Mainstore” line below. Your own socials, music links and event times are left out.

Pins are optional. Pin a credit to a spot on a photo and fans see it on the picture. Unpinned credits show in the Credits list under the post.

If a store gave you the items or paid for the post, tick Sponsored post in Credits and add the store’s name. Fans see a “Sponsored · Store” label on the post, in feeds and on the post page.

Your numbers

  • Credit clicks count once per person, per credit, per day. Your own clicks don’t count.
  • Your media kit shows followers, credited posts in the last 90 days, credit clicks in the last 30 days and the stores you feature.
  • Your Blogger hub also lists your most-clicked credits. Only you see that list.

For stores

Your store has a page

Store pages are built from bloggers’ credits. If bloggers credit your store, it has a page at onlysl.net/stores/your-store with the items they credit and the posts that feature them.

  1. On your store page, choose Claim it as a brand. A brand request opens with your store’s name filled in.
  2. Once staff approve it, the store page links to your new brand profile and shows your brand as “On OnlySL”.
  3. With a brand account you can run a blogger program: invite bloggers, hand them releases and pay commission on sales from their posts. More for brands

FAQ

›Do I need a brand deal to blog?

No. Blogger mode works for any store in Second Life, whether or not it’s on OnlySL.

›Do I earn money from credits?

Not directly. Credits are for your fans and your media kit. Commission comes from brand blogger programs: an OnlySL brand invites you (or accepts your application) and you tag its OnlySL listings in your posts.

›Who sees my click numbers?

Your media kit shows totals. Which credits got clicked is only shown to you, in the Blogger hub.

›Do locked or paid posts show up on store pages?

No. Store pages, the Blogger posts tab, media kits and the directory only use public posts. Credits on locked posts stay with the post for the people who can open it.

›Can I turn blogger mode off?

Yes, at any time in the Blogger hub. Your badge, media kit and directory listing go away, and your credits stay on your posts.

›I’m a fan. Can I blog?

Blogger mode is part of creator profiles. Apply to become a creator first.
